The Airport Lounge Perk I’ve Been Chasing For Years: Air France’s Free Clarins Facials at Paris-CDG

Long-haul travel doesn’t exactly promote health and wellness. Hours spent seated, dry cabin air, lackluster food, and jet lag can leave even experienced travelers feeling wrecked.

That's why I make it a point to indulge when I have a chance for some self-care on my travel days. Which brings me to one of Air France’s lesser-known premium perks. . .

At select Air France lounges at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG), eligible passengers can enjoy complimentary, express Clarins facial treatments. With a catch: they’re really difficult to book.

I have tried, for years, to secure one of the elusive spa treatments. No matter what time of day I’ve managed to arrive in the lounge, the appointments have always been completely booked up.

But after years of trying, I finally succeeded in securing a coveted appointment for a facial during a recent transit through CDG.

So, was it worth the effort?

Why Wellness Matters When You Travel

Frequent travelers often focus on seat upgrades, airport lounges, and elite status benefits. Yet wellness may be one of the most overlooked aspects of travel.

Now let’s be honest, a brief spa treatment isn’t going to be a panacea for jet lag. But it can help you feel refreshed, relaxed, and ready for the next leg of your journey.

That's part of what makes the Clarins partnership unique. Rather than simply providing another lounge amenity, Air France has incorporated a wellness experience directly into the airport journey.

Which Air France Lounges Offer Clarins Treatments?

Clarins Spa services are available in select Air France lounges at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport.

In Terminal 2E, treatments are available daily, except Wednesdays, from 7:40 AM - 1:30 PM, and from 3:20 PM - 8:30 PM.

In Terminal 2F, treatments are available daily, except on Sundays, 7:40 AM - 6:40 PM.

How to Book an Appointment

I used the self-service booking kiosk located outside the Clarins spa area within the lounge.

Tips for Securing an Appointment

  • Head to the booking kiosk immediately after entering the lounge.
  • Book before eating or showering.
  • If no appointments are available, check back periodically for cancellations.

The treatments are complimentary, but availability is limited. I think in large part because of the limited number of treatment rooms and technicians.

Is It Actually Worth the Effort?

After several years of trying—and failing—to secure an appointment, my answer is yes.

Part of the appeal is the exclusivity. Availability is limited, which creates a bit of a treasure-hunt mentality. But travel can be physically demanding. And finding opportunities to recharge, hydrate, relax, and care for yourself during a long journey often pays dividends.

As for the specific treatment I booked - there was only one facial and one time slot available, so I booked the “bye dry skin.”

It was not like a typical facial for which you change into a robe and lie on a treatment table under a blanket. Rather, you remain fully clothed, and no blanket or sheet was offered to cover up with.

During the 20 minute session, the technician applied several Clarins products and did a brief face/scalp/hand massage. Overall it was very relaxing and nap-inducing.

Consensus from the family post treatment - soft, glowing skin.

On this post are few pics from my aunt’s treatment session, which she kindly let me photograph.

Final Verdict:
I’ll keep chasing those spa appointments when I transit through CDG. Maybe in another few years I’ll get lucky with an appointment and be able to report back on a different treatment.
