Atica: Honoring Local Culture Through Cuisine at Paris’ Unique Immersive Dining Experience
When people ask for my top restaurant recommendations in Paris, there is one restaurant that always tops my list.
Atica is an immersive culinary experience in Paris’ 5ème, housed in a former cinema. It operates in “seasons,” a new one every six months, with each season spotlighting the food, indigenous people, local traditions, and geography of a featured destination. Basque was Atica’s inaugural journey, followed by Corsica and the Great North. The current journey is to Reva Tahiti in French Polynesia.
What to Expect
The entry level bar is intentionally designed to mimic an airport lounge, where diners can enjoy pre- or post-dinner cocktails. Dinner awaits down a wide staircase, infused with a custom fragrance. For Basque, it was Kresala, a mix of salty sea breeze with cotton candy whimsy, woven with notes of pine nuts, Espelette pepper, jasmine and vetiver.
The dining room features floor-to-ceiling, 360° video paired to each course. For Basque, this involved 6 months of filming. And I thought that the videography really enhanced the meal. As a Midwest farmer’s daughter, food sourcing is important to me. So I enjoyed learning about the inspiration for each dish throughout the meal via the audio and video presentations synched to each course.
What’s on the Menu
As for the food, diners can choose from the standard or vegan multi-course set menu. Vegetarian options are available on request, and the restaurant will work to accommodate dietary restrictions. Special requests should be noted when booking.

Lunch: Set menu €80 per person (Saturdays only)
Dinner: Set menu €155 per person, food and wine pairings ranging from €50 to €95 (Tuesday through Saturday)
You can find the current menu here.
Is it a bit gimmicky? Yes. But it also works. Atica is not merely form over substance. The service is outstanding and the food actually delivers (though with two slightly disappointing middle courses when I dined at Basque).
So if you’re looking for a bit of a splurge while in Paris and are ready to step outside of typical French fare, put Atica on your reservations list.

Booking is online through Zenchef. Atica looks to be currently doing seatings at 12:30 for lunch (Saturday only) and 8 pm for dinner, with a wine tasting offered on Saturdays at 5 pm.
